Full-time mommy and part-time beauty influencer, Mira Kapoor shared her skincare routine with us last week. She spoke about using Ayurvedic products and revealed the secret to her glowing skin. Now, on popular demand, she has shared her hair care routine and it’s something we can all follow.
Talking to her fans through Instagram, she said, “I have always had wavy hair, it tends to get frizzy in humidity. I was like I don’t want to be Monica in that episode in the Bahamas with my hair like that.”
Well, Mira, neither do we!
She even said that the move from Delhi to Mumbai actually made her extremely nervous because of the humidity levels but fortunately Bombay water suited her hair.
Mira further added, “My hair is wavy, and like most girls, I never liked my own hair. I always wanted to go against the grain and go against my hair type. I used to carry a hair straightener with me everywhere.”
Talking about the difference between her hair care routine then and now, she said that earlier she would be looking for products to help make her mane look different- so those which were conducive to heat styling, blow-drying, and straightening. But now she has embraced her natural hair and chooses products that enhance her locks and makes them look shinier and silkier.
For Mira, a pre-shampoo hair oiling ritual is a must. She uses the Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Hair Oil and leaves it on for a couple of hours before shampooing. She even mentioned that she applies the hair oil only to the roots and opts for an Ayurvedic hair mask to coat the ends. Mira said it’s made all the difference to her mane and her hair feels softer and silkier.
On days when she doesn’t want to use the hair mask, she alternates with a walnut hair oil which also works well for smoothening out her tips.
Because of the humidity, Mira said that her scalp is a bit oily and she uses the Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. “People who oil their hair often know that the worst thing to happen is that when you’re done washing and drying, there’s still oil. I just need to wash my hair once with this shampoo”, she added.
She skips conditioning most times because the hair mask gets the job done but mentions the Olaplex Conditioner as her go-to.
For styling her hair, she usually lets it airdry naturally but on some days uses the Dyson Airwrap. She uses the same walnut oil by Pahadi Local as a serum on her ends because she has noticed that it absorbs really well and makes her strands soft and smooth. When it’s still wet, she uses a wet brush to comb it out or uses a neem comb to untangle her hair.
