Twitterati Ask ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ As TV Actors Romance Through Face Shields

After three months of stalled shootings and closed sets, the Indian entertainment industry is beginning to gather pace as fresh episodes and shows finally begin to air yet again. The longest-running Indian soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, returned to air just earlier this week after a long hiatus. Now, while the show’s dedicated fandom (read desi moms) certainly had a reason to rejoice, it is the Twitterati that seems to be making the most of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai right now. What’s up you ask? Well, the show’s cast has returned to the screens with face shields, face masks, and even sanitizers and while that might be alright, it is how they are being used as “props” that has the netizens in splits. 

In one of the recent episodes, actors Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan aka Kartik and Naira were seen romancing through a face shield. In the sequence, there comes a point when Kartik legit “kisses” Naira through the face shield! *facepalm* But wait there’s more. In yet another scene, featuring Shivangi and Sita Choudhry, the latter can be seen dramatically taking off her face mask after chancing upon Naira in a temple. Twitterati is now saying that “Mask utarna is the new thali fekna,” and well, we can’t help but agree.
