Influencer and content creator Malvika Sitlani has been living the best phase of her life as she is slowly adjusting to motherhood. Her daughter, Abigail was born on May 10 and Malvika has been posting content about her baby and her birth story. But one can never get it right with the internet. The new mother has been facing the wrath of the trolls who have accused her of “milking her pregnancy and child for money.” However, things got uglier after Malvika posted her birth video.
Ever since her delivery, Malvika had stated that she will soon share her labour vlog which was shot by her brother Jake Sitlani. A few days ago, she finally posted her birth video and a section of the internet wasn’t pleased. While a few applauded her for getting through it without a partner, the rest called her out for “oversharing.” A Redditor posted the video with the caption, “It’s giving horror movie,” and started a thread. Netizens stated how influencers have started using their personal life to make money.
A user wrote, “Sharing your life is one thing, involving children who have no say because you are unfortunately the guardian is worst. These cows milk their kids!” Many even made jokes about how the video was looking like a horror movie.
After months of trolling, Malvika has finally had it! On July 5, a few days after she uploaded a birth video, Malvika posted an Instagram story in which she stated that she will pause on her birth story movie for a while. The influencer claimed that social media is incapable of allowing realness and creativity and not every content piece is to “make money.” She even asked the internet to view content creators as “artists who are just trying to create and share our experience with you.”
While it is sad that Malvika had to put a pause on what she wanted to do for so long due to a few haters, what’s even worse is that even this announcement of hers was brutally trolled! Netizens mocked her for calling her content “art.”
Well, the internet is definitely a hard place to survive in. Being a single mother and still consistent with content is not everyone’s cup of tea and Malvika Sitlani definitely deserves a hell lot of kudos for that. You go Malz!
