The Chaiyya Chaiyya star shared that people warned her against removing ‘Khan’ from her surname.
But did she pay any heed to the unsolicited advice? Nope!
Malaika shared, “It did have a lot of benefits in my life but I don’t think I could rest on the fact that I had a famous surname. I had to work hard and prove myself every single day of my life to stay in the game. And, the day I had the surname removed and went back to my maiden name, I still continued to work and make a difference.”
When Malaika Revealed The Reason For Her Divorce
In 2022, Malaika made her OTT debut with Moving In With Malaika. In the show, she talked about different aspects of her life, including her divorce. Malaika revealed that she got married to Arbaaz only because she wanted to get out of her house. In a conversation with Farah Khan, she opened up about why she walked out of her marriage. She said, “I was very young [when I got married]. I also changed. I wanted different things in life. And I think actually today we are better people”
