Malaika Arora has many beauty home remedies up her sleeve so that she never has to suffer from pesky skin or hair concerns. And while she does experience breakouts just like the rest of us, she has a nifty home remedy for this skin concern as well.
No wonder we never really see her with a blemish, because the DIY face pack she whips up is made of three natural ingredients that are always around in any kitchen all the time. Read on to find out all about it.
What Is Malaika Arora’s DIY For Pimples?
Malaika Arora makes a simple homemade face pack of cinnamon powder, honey, and lime juice to treat her pimples. Before sharing her recipe in her Instagram reel, she said, “I tend to get a lot of breakouts because of weather change or hormonal changes or just you know the fact that we use a lot of products like makeup, etc. So I do tend to break out and this is something that works beautifully for breakouts and acne-prone skin. It really keeps my skin in check.”
“You need cinnamon powder or as you say dalchini powder, some honey, and lime that’s it,” she said and I already have all of these ingredients readily available at home.
Benefits Of Malaika Arora’s DIY Face Mask For Pimples
- Cinnamon powder has powerful antiseptic properties that will help heal pimples.
- Cinnamon powder can also unclog pores and reduce the size of pimples considerably.
- Lime juice is rich in vitamin C and can gently exfoliate the skin which helps in reducing blemishes.
- Honey balances out this DIY face mask for acne because it is a natural humectant that moisturises and soothes the skin.
- Honey is also considered to be a great natural topical treatment for pimples as it also has anti-inflammatory properties.
How To Use Malaika Arora’s DIY Face Pack For Pimples?
Malaika explained, “Mix half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder, some raw honey, a teaspoon of it. Squeeze another teaspoon of lime juice (in a bowl). Now all you have to do is just mix it up and apply.” Malaika used a bowl with a clean face brush to mix and apply the mask on her skin.
She further said, “Okay mask on. Make sure you avoid your mouth area and your eye area because they are very sensitive parts of your face. Apply the mask to areas that are little more acne-prone. You can use this mask once or twice a week depending on how intense your skin issues are. You can keep the mask on for 8-10 minutes. Rinse with cold water, make sure that it is all off. Apply your favourite moisturiser and sunscreen and you’re good to go.”
Malaika recommends using a moisturiser and sunscreen after this DIY for pimples as they protect your skin from experiencing more damage and breakouts.
My go-to moisturiser for when my skin has blemishes is the MyGlamm Manish Malhotra Amla Moisturising Gel.
The only sunscreen I swear by to keep my acne-prone skin soothed and protected from the sun at the same time is the POPxo H2O Booster Sunscreen Gel.
