Team POPxo’s Go-To Makeup Hacks To Get Ready In A Jiffy
Blush & Glow
I use a lot of highlighter on the nose, cheeks, and chin to make my skin look dewy and radiant, and some blush on the nose and under the eyes is a must.

Power Pigments
Premature greying is something I really struggle with. The stark silver of new growth against my deep brown, just a fortnight after a root touch-up, really ruins the look. The hack that salvages my last-minute plans is brow powder. Dabbing it against my hairline where the new growth is prominent really covers it up well. I occasionally also top it off with a brow pencil followed up with a touch of gel so it doesn’t budge.

Colour Coding
I’ve been using this hack practically every time I get ready because it helps me create monotone makeup looks with ease. To match my eye and lip makeup for a monotone effect, I use the eyeshadow as a lipstick. I first get my eye makeup done and then whichever is the boldest eyeshadow shade from the look goes on as my lipstick. I prep my pout with a lip balm and then just keep dabbing the eyeshadow on, until I attain the opacity that I want. This really saves time as I don’t have to struggle with finding the perfect lipstick to complement my eye makeup looks.

Cheeky Affair
My go-to technique to instantly perk up my face includes using blush as an eyeshadow. I love applying blush along my cheekbone, starting at the apple. Then, I sweep the brush across my lid blending it towards my brow bone. This helps me achieve a flirty, flushed look with barely any effort.

Raise The Brow
I enjoy playing with makeup, and every once in a while I just go overboard. The only thing that makes me lose my temper is hitting the brow palette. So here’s the snag. I used brown mascara to tame my brows instead of spending my moolah on a new eyebrow gel or palette, and oh boy, it worked wonders. Likewise, if you choose the perfect shade for your skin tone, you can achieve the brows of your dreams.

Glow In A Pinch
Whenever I can’t find time to do a full face of makeup but I need something to look fresh, I resort to this trusted hack. I use lipstick as a blush. It gives a very natural and glowy look that instantly perks up my visage.

Contour Kween
After several failed attempts at cut-creasing – I found my consolation in a “hack.” Yes, I used my contour as my eyeshadow! It immediately gives my eye that faux cut-crease feel and what better use of a contour shade that went wrong? PS: it also has better coverage because of the creamy texture and does not smudge easily even though I have hooded eyes that tend to scare away powdery formulations.

Lips In Line
I focus so much on skincare that I hardly get time to come up with a makeup look. And hunting for lipsticks and lip liners in my kit is always a hassle. That’s why I swear by this reel-inspired makeup hack because it never fails me when I have to get ready in minutes. I use my eyebrow pen as an alternative to brown lip liner and then dab the cream blush I used on my cheek as my lip tint for the look. It gives me a uniform glow and then all I need is mascara on my lashes to complete my makeup.
