Being a celebrity has many perks but there are some drawbacks too. Getting constantly stalked by paparazzi is one of them. While most celebrities understand that capturing them is a part of the paps’ jobs, sometimes the shutterbugs can get a little too extreme. While we agree that celebrities are public figures, we also believe that everyone deserves some privacy. Of course, the paps continue with their antics without paying any heed to the celebs’ comfort which sometimes leads to unpleasant situations. Read on for a list of four incidents when stars lost their cool on the paparazzi.
Jaya Bachchan
Jaya Bachchan has frequently made headlines for her harsh comments to the paps but they refuse to budge. The veteran actress was recently seen at the Indore airport with her husband, Amitabh Bachchan. The cameramen continued to photograph her even after she stated that she did not want her pictures taken. She eventually lost her cool and said, “Aise logo ki naukri jaani chahiye” (such people should lose their jobs). Jaya has previously stated that she despises people who meddle in her personal affairs and then profit from them. It’s high time the paps take a hint!
Rhea Chakraborty
A few days ago, Rhea was heading to a salon when the paparazzi started following her. They asked her to wait, but she started walking quickly in order to avoid them. While climbing the stairs, she tripped and was about to fall. However, she quickly regained her balance. She looked visibly annoyed and said, “Dekho peecha karoge toh aisa hoga” (If you follow me, this will happen). The poor girl just wanted to treat herself to a salon sesh; give her a break!
Taapsee Pannu
Taapsee has frequently found herself in a difficult situations with the paparazzi. A few months ago, while promoting her film, she was being escorted inside a venue while photographers kept asking her to stop. They rebuked her for arriving late and keeping them waiting for two hours. The actress tried to explain that she simply followed the instructions given to her, which stated that they would be waiting inside the venue but the paparazzi persisted. Tapsee eventually lost her cool and asked them not to yell at her. She said, “Please talk to me in a respectful manner, I am just doing my work. I have arrived on time at every place I have been asked to. You will talk to me respectfully, I will also talk to you respectfully.”
Anushka Sharma & Virat Kohli
Anushka and Virat have always stated that they do not want their daughter photographed. Despite Anushka’s repeated requests, the paparazzi continue to attempt to photograph the family. They crossed all boundaries when they leaked private pictures of the couple without their permission while they comfortably sat on their home’s balcony. This enraged the actress, who expressed her displeasure on social media and wrote, “Despite requesting the said photographer and the publication, they still continue to invade our privacy. Guys! Stop this right now.” It’s absurd that they have to “request” privacy even in their own home.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Last year, a paparazzo went overboard when Kareena Kapoor Khan stepped out to visit her friend, Malaika Arora. The pap ran behind her in order to get one picture and in turn, ended up injuring himself when he collided with Kareena’s car. This exasperated the actress who yelled at her chauffeur and asked him to take the car behind. She later asked the paparazzi not to run around trying to take pictures of her.
While celebrities do need the media to stay relevant in current times, it’s high time the paparazzi learn about boundaries. What are your thoughts?
