I’ve been waiting for the trailer of Laila Majnu for so long! It is finally out and it was definitely worth the wait. Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor have come together to create a stunning fairytale romance, directed by Sajid Ali. Starring newbies Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri, the film is set in a Kashmiri town and the picturesque locations turn everything magical.
The movie, as the name suggests, is based on the iconic Laila Majnu folklore about two star-crossed lovers belonging to families that have a generational rivalry. In the original romance, both the protagonists die in the end, so here is hoping that Imtiaz and Ekta made a few changes in the storyline!
The two actors look absolutely convincing in their roles as modern day Laila and Majnu, through the first half of the trailer seems too ‘Bollywood’, the second half leaves you with goosebumps.

The trailer has the signature Imtiaz Ali flair, accompanied by Ekta Kapoor’s love for drama. The movie is set to release on 7th September and that feels too far away. The trailer definitely has me hooked on to this love story of these star-crossed lovers.
