Karan Johar’s much-awaited comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani created quite a stir in the entertainment industry. The film is receiving abundant praise from the audience and critics alike. While Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee’s prem kahaani witnessed its happily-ever-after in the film, did it make you wonder what would happen after the two get married?
In a recent interview with a leading daily, KJo was asked where Rocky and Rani’s characters would live after their shaadi. Well, to everyone’s surprise, the filmmaker not only revealed the location of their post-marriage house but also hinted a potential sequel for the movie. Karan shared that neither Rocky nor Rani would be moving into their parent’s house, and would be living separately in their own small world. He said, “I definitely think that Rani would not move into Randhawa Paradise. I definitely think the Chatterjees would be okay with the fact that they (Rocky and Rani) would move into their separate home because now they get along with each other’s families well enough for them to create a world of their own. So, in my head, neither does Rocky move to Rani’s, nor does Rani move to Rocky’s, they have a place of their own. In my head, Rani would do up that place. I’m not sure she would be bent on Rocky’s aesthetic. Also Rocky would not stop being Rocky.”
Revealing his plans for the film’s sequel, KJo said, “You know we discussed a part 2. We used to chat about it – Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and me. We were like ‘What has got to be the story because these two deserve a spin-off’. I am like ‘Who knows’! We imagined a story. We actually have a kind of story, but we don’t know. This was too nascent a thought. Definitely, I see Rocky and Rani living somewhere in Delhi, but away from their parents. Because now they know that even though the backseat driving is being done by the family, they are okay. They are in decent control of the front seat.”
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani entered the 50 Cr club within four days of its release. The movie’s hatke take on modern relationships, courtships, and quintessential Bollywood romance is what touched millions of hearts and made it a blockbuster hit!
As far as a sequel is concerned, I can’t wait to witness what KJo has in store for us! What if Ranbir and DP also have a lil cameo in the film? *wink wink*
