The moment Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Satyaprem Ki Katha trailer dropped, I was obsessed! It looked like the perfect desi rom-com. I am eagerly waiting for the film to release now. While there’s still some time before the film hits the theatres, its much-awaited track Sun Sajni just dropped online. I just listened to it and gotta say, it’s a banger! However, I couldn’t help but notice how similar this song’s video appears to Nagada Sang Dhol track from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of these two songs, let’s talk about Sun Sajni. It is a spectacular Garba celebration song that is perfect to get everyone on the dance floor. Kartik and Kiara look simply perfect together in this OTT Garba number. Scroll down to take a look:
Is Sun Sajni Inspired By Nagada Sang Dhol?
One thing that stood out for me is Kartik and Kiara’s styling in Sun Sajni. Doesn’t it feel a little too inspired by Nagada Sang Dhol? ICYMI, Kiara has worn a vibrant Gujrati lehenga and Kartik is looking stunning in kediya dhoti in the song. The outfits are reminding me of DP and Ranveer’s outfits in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Deepika wore an elaborate 30 kgs ghagra designed by Anju Modi for the iconic dance number. Meanwhile, the Gully Boy star also picked a traditional Gujarati attire for the song. Take a look:
I think this is a case of good inspiration! Sun Sajni team might have been inspired by Nagada Sang Dhol, but Kartik and Kiara have brought their unique flavour to the song.
