Prerna Sharma and Anurag Basu, the lead characters of Ekta Kapoor’s soap opera Kasautii Zindagii Kay recently, promised to get married to each other. The two spent three months playing dodgeball with their feelings until they went to a temple and decided to tie the knot. Just when all of us were about to let out a sigh of relief, a new promo of this show has surfaced!
Good boy Anurag Basu is known for being soft-spoken and head over heels in love with Prerna. However, we see another side of him in the promo: he is bashing his girlfriend and breaking her heart. On the other hand, he has the audacity to introduce Komolika, Prerna’s nemesis, as his future wife!
What makes this promo even more confusing is the fact that Komolika recently announced that she was leaving the show to follow her Bollywood dreams. She claimed that she would not appear in the show post-March. So what happens now? Does Komolika leave Anurag at the mandap? Does Anurag run away with Prerna? Or does he abandon her and marry Komolika, which is what took place in the original version of the show.
In the original series, Prerna’s father dies in a car accident and Anurag’s mother emotionally blackmails him to marry Komolika. All while Prerna is pregnant with Anurag’s baby and he has no freaking idea! While in this show, Prerna’s dad is very much alive and Anurag’s father’s funeral has already been preempted, his mother might once again convince Anurag to marry Komolika. There is only so much creativity an Ekta Kapoor show can take.
