It has been over two decades since we were introduced to Poo, the most iconic Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham character. Safe to say, we are yet to see another one like her. Well, the only way that can happen is if Kareena decides to revive Poo. Just imagine seeing a Poo spin-off in 2023! But is that going to happen? In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor was asked if she would be interested in doing a Poo spin-off focused on the character and her fashion. The actress replied, “Never. As you said, Poo was truly an iconic character. Some characters need to remain untouched and loved for what it was. I don’t think it can be touched; I don’t think it should be, and nobody can play Poo.”
I agree! Her dialogues and even Poo’s outfits have been legendary fashion statements that cannot be imitated.
In the interview, Kareena also spoke about her Bole Chudiya outfit, which continues to fuel fashion fantasies after all these years. She praised Manish Malhotra and said, “Manish had done a spectacular job, and even today, 23 years later, people adore it; they love the colour, which is gorgeous. The work on it for that time was ahead of its time.”
Even though a lot of celebrities have recreated Poo’s dialogues and even tried to dress like her on many occasions, Kareena is right. Nobody can re-create the character.
But wouldn’t it be exciting if we got to get a glimpse at Poo’s life twenty-two years later? I believe she would still be PHAT (pretty, hot, and tempting)!
