Kareena Kapoor Opens Up About Losing Her Sex Drive During Her Pregnancy & We’re All Ears

In an industry where celebs, more often not, choose to be silent about their journey to motherhood, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s candid attitude is refreshing. Throughout both her pregnancies, the actress has been honest and open about the struggles and challenges that she experienced. In fact, she went a step further and documented her entire experience in her book titled Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual For Moms-To-Be.

Speaking of which, her debut book hit the shelves yesterday and the actress celebrated the launch by hosting a live session on her ‘gram with Karan Johar. During the sesh, Bebo spoke about everything from the trauma of delivering a baby in the pandemic to the benefits of gond ke ladoo for breastfeeding. She even shared helpful pregnancy hacks for expecting moms-to-be. Have a look at the video here.

That’s not all, Kareena also opened up about her feelings towards her body and the loss of her sex drive when she was pregnant with her baby number two. She said, “Some days, I would feel super amazing and sexy, and feel ‘oh my God, I am looking so hot with this belly’ and I feel amazing, and I would tell Saif that or he would say, ‘You are looking beautiful’.” She also added that post-six-seven months, there were times where she felt like she wanted to be all alone. She said, “I was exhausted and I couldn’t get myself to get up sometimes in the morning. But sometimes, it’s just a feeling of repulsion. You are just in a mental state when you don’t know what to think.”

Bebo further explained how important it is to have an understanding partner during such difficult times. She said, “It’s so important to have a supportive man and most men should not put pressure on their wives to a) look beautiful while they are pregnant and b) feel they are any less. That pressure shouldn’t be there or like ‘this is it, our regular sex life has to be super-active’.” We totally agree with Bebo! Women, anyway go through a lot during their pregnancies, and could do without the added pressure of having to look good at all times.
