Ever since Farhan Akhtar announced his women-led film Jee Le Zaraa, the world has been waiting for it to go on floors. The project, which was intended to star Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt, is currently on hold. Due to scheduling conflicts and past work obligations, Priyanka had to walk out of the film, and the makers have been looking for an actress to replace her. While this project could be a difficult offer to decline, it seems like no actress is able to match the dates.
Anushka Sharma was the first actress who was asked to take Priyanka’s place in the film. While she was looking forward to a women-led expedition, the shooting schedules did not coincide with her timetable. According to sources, the producers then sought Kareena Kapoor Khan. While it would have been wonderful to have Kareena share the screen with Alia and Katrina, she had to turn down the offer as well.
According to a report in Mid-Day, Kareena is also facing issues scheduling challenges, and she is more keen on doing films with a novel story as she is already working on a film with the same framework as Jee Le Zara. Kareena is currently shooting for The Crew which is helmed by Rhea Kapoor and also features Tabu and Kriti Sanon. Since Bebo is already doing a women-led film, she is looking for something new.
The film is struggling to begin shooting since two years and hence, many think it is being shelved. However, a source close to the production refuted the rumours and said, “There’s no truth in it. It’s a project which will definitely be made because it is very close to Farhan as well as Zoya.” Well, replacing PC is not an easy task but we hope the makers figure a way out ‘coz this could very easily turn into one of the best films we’ve seen in a while. *fingers crossed*
