Well, looks like Karan Johar is all set to launch yet another star kid with the stellar franchise. Any guesses who it is going to be? I’d help you with a hint—she was earlier going to make her Bollywood debut with another Dharma film called Bedhadak. Why, of course, we are talking about Shanaya Kapoor!
Reports suggest that KJo will soon announce Shanaya as the lead star of Student Of The Year 3 but there’s a twist. Read on to find out:
SOTY 3 On Disney+ Hotstar
Yes, Karan is finally making SOTY 3 but it is not going to be a film! As reported by a popular digital media platform, SOTY 3 will be a web series. Shanaya will be making her OTT debut with the project. This sounds like an amazing opportunity and will give her the perfect platform to showcase her talent!
The project is currently in the writing stage and the series will go on the floors by the end of 2023.
What Happened To Bedhadak?
Karan Johar proudly announced Shanaya Kapoor’s introduction to the Dharmatic Universe in March 2023. The cast was set. The film was named. The posters were shared. However, we started hearing rumours about the film getting shelved shortly after the announcement. KJo was quick to shut them down with a full cast reveal in July 2022. But looks like it has indeed been cancelled.
Earlier in July, Karan congratulated Shanaya for signing her debut film with Mohanlal! He shared a long note about how this was the opportunity of a lifetime and wrote “This is such a brilliant opportunity for you … so much to learn from the legendary @mohanlal sir.. who I admire and respect so much …#VRUSHABHA is a pan Indian spectacle that will wow the world with its narrative and breathtaking visuals … as family to you I am ever so grateful to the entire team for giving us this opportunity.”
KJo’s post for Shanaya’s debut was confirmation that Dedhadak was out of the picture but a SOTY debut more than makes up for it.
Bedhadak didn’t happen ‘coz bigger things were waiting for Shanaya. Clearly, her stars are already shining before the big debut. We have a lot of expectations from this one!
