We are pretty sure if the controversy had another name it would be Kangana Ranaut. The actress never misses a chance to speak her mind and ruffle a few (TBH, a lot more than a few) feathers in Bollywood. In the last couple of years, Kangana has waged war against B-town and a number of celebs have faced the actress’ wrath.
Recently, Kangana attacked a video where a child was seen imitating actor Alia Bhatt’s dialogues from Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress shared, “Should this child imitate a sex worker with a beedi in her mouth and crude and obscene dialogues? Look at her body language, is it ok to sexualize her at this age? There are hundreds of other children who are being used similarly.”
This is not the first time that Kangana has taken panga with a Bollywood star, as there are many (many, many) names on the list. Let’s talk about some of them.
Deepika Padukone
Earlier this month, Kangana took to the ‘Gram and shared a cryptic post about Deepika Padukone’s latest film Gehraiyaan. She termed the movie “trash” and wrote, “I am also a millennial but I identify and understand this kind of romance…in the name of millennial/new age/urban movies don’t sell trash pls…bad movies are bad movies no amount of skin show or pornography can save it …it’s a basic fact koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai.”
Taapsee Pannu
It all started when Taapsee, in an interview, said that the Thalavii actress needed a double filter and all hell broke loose. Never the one to let things go, Kangana called Taapsee a sasti copy and since then the Queen actress has taken multiple potshots at the Game Over star. Just a few months ago, Kangana took to the ‘Gram and shared a nasty post about Taapsee. She wrote, “She calls producers and begs kangana ji ne kuch chhoda hai toh mujhe dedo please, aur aaj iski aukat dekho, jo kabhi gareeb producer ki Kangana kehlane mein bhi proud feel karti thi… aaj mujhe he irrelevant keh rahi hai ha ha insaan aur uski fitrat ajeeb hai (She calls producers and begs them to give her any films I turned down, and look at her today. She was once proud to be called the Kangana for poor producers and today, she calls me irrelevant. People and their bizarre nature)”
Karan Johar
Unless you have been living under a rock, you’d surely remember the infamous Koffee With Karan episode wherein Kangana called KJo a ‘movie mafia’. In an interview with a leading daily, the actress accused Karan of trying to turn the film industry against her. She said, “The Indian film industry is not a small studio given to Karan by his father when he was in his early 20s. I learnt on the job and got paid for it, using the money to educate myself in New York. He is nobody to tell me to leave it. I’m definitely not going anywhere, Mr. Johar.”
Ayushmann Khurrana
A while ago, Kangana Ranaut slammed Ayushmann Khurrana out of nowhere and called him out for ‘supporting’ Bollywood. The actress tweeted, “Chaploos (Sycophant) outsiders support mafia only for one reason and the reason is their mediocrity, nobody is threatened by them and they take full advantage of conflicts faced by few like Kangana and SSR by openly denying and mocking them” Much to Ayushmann’s credit he kept a dignified silence on the subject. Given how much Kangana fights against nepotism, we thought she would be kinder to the outsiders in Bollywood. We were wrong!
Urmila Matondkar
In a 2020 interview, Kangana took a jibe at actress Urmila Matondkar and called her a ‘soft porn actor’ who is ‘not known for her acting’. This statement sparked a controversy in the film industry and people bashed the Simran actress for her crude remark. NGL, this is one of the most offensive statements ever made by Kangana and we were honestly outraged by this. Slut-shaming is NEVER okay!
