They say you never truly get over your first real love and a part of you is with them forever. The first time you go for a movie alone with him, the first walk around the park, the first time he holds your hand and tells you that he loves you and that first stolen kiss. Thinking about all those mushy moments and all the butterflies you felt in your tummy may still bring a smile to your face. Now, what if we told you that there are people who find their forever love in the first go.
Plixxo Superblogger, Juhi Godambe recently got rokafied with the love of her life whom she met at the age of 14! Juhi and Siddharth’s pyaar ki daastan is going to warm your hearts.
Talking to Humans Of Bombay, Juhi shared, “I was 14 when I was out with 2 of my friends at a really shady bar. I didn’t even know what I was doing there — I was a complete goody-two-shoes kid! But that’s when I met Siddharth for the first time. He sat opposite me and stared at me the whole time, but barely spoke a word!”
She thought that he didn’t speak to her because he felt he was “too cool” for a conversation but later found out that he really liked her. It was love at first sight for him. So much so that he even transferred to her school a week later. They started hanging out in a group but never really spent any time alone.
“A couple of months later, we were talking on the phone about a project, when suddenly in the middle of the conversation he said, ‘I love you’. I froze, and just said, ‘Okay’. There was a pause — and then I said, ‘Same’. We continued talking like nothing even happened — that was it; we were dating! We’d go for movies and walks on the beach alone”, Juhi added.
After two years, Siddharth moved to Banglore to pursue engineering and she moved to London to study. That’s when their five-year-long long distance relationship started. They would meet once in five or six months but always stuck together through it. They knew it from the beginning that it was all worth it.
Talking about how they push each other to be the best version of themselves, Juhi shared, “From helping each other with math, to helping each other realise our potential — we’ve done it all. I gave up being a stylist to start my own blog, and he gave up engineering to pursue his family business. We pushed each other to work hard, and before we knew it, we were killing it in our careers.”
It has now been 11 years since the lovebirds have been together. They had planned their wedding back when they were sixteen and now it’s finally happening.
“I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and marry my best friend; my childhood love. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and I’m more in love with Siddharth than I could’ve imagined. He still hasn’t proposed to me, and I know he doesn’t do cheesy, but there’s no way he’s getting out of this one — I’m waiting for it, and it’s got to be fondue-levels of cheesiness,” added the social media sensation.
