JLo’s Brown-Toned Makeup Look Is Setting Instagram On Fire & Here’s How You Can Recreate It

JLo’s Brown-Toned Makeup Look Is Setting Instagram On Fire & Here’s How You Can Recreate It

At 52, Jennifer Lopez has never looked better. Actor, singer, and all-around legend, JLo has blessed us with, possibly the best songs of all time whilst creating iconic romantic comedies such as Monster-in-law and The Wedding Planner. Add to the fact that she looks insanely gorgeous and you realise why JLo is a force to be reckoned with.

Lopez’s decade-long career has come with many memorable beauty moments, but for the most part, she’s got a clear formula that sticks to- her coveted JLo glow is proof no amount of highlighter and bronzer is too much. Her ’90s bombshell blowout and XXL extensions prove her hair has no limits, and her signature nude lipstick is one that should be sold en masse. The sun-kissed angel wore her hair slicked back with two larger-than-life ponytails framing her face and her makeup was positively gorgeous. The stunning look featured bold eyes, fluttery lashes paired with a glossy nude lip. So, whether you’re prepping for a night-out-on-the-town or an important social event – add this beauty look to your inspiration board to steal the damn show.

Your Guide To Nail Jennifer Lopez’s Bronzed Makeup Look

Step 1: It’s All About The Glow

While skincare is important to achieve a JLo glow, choosing the right makeup products is also vital. Prep your skin with a moisturiser all over the face and a mattifying primer, applied sparingly on the T-zone. Next buff an illuminating foundation all over the face and neck with a wet sponge. Swipe and blend a creamy concealer under your eyes and on areas that need more coverage. Seal the deal with a light dusting of setting powder on areas that tend to get oily.

Step 2: ‘Coz Brows Speak Louder Than Words

For strong brows, draw short strokes to mimic your natural hairs with an eyebrow product. To fill them in more, use a brow powder with an angled brush to fill in any gaps. Follow it up with a brow gel to set them in place.

Step 3: May The Wings Of Your Eyeliner Always Be Even

Primer your lids with an eyeshadow base. Then, load a medium brown shade on a blending brush and apply it all over your lids. Next pick up a darker, more pigmented shade with a fluffy brush, and place it in your crease, starting at the outer corner and working your way in. Don’t forget to swipe a hint on the lower lash line too. Press a lighter, shimmery shade under the tail end of your eyebrow, and blend it out so that it mimics the way the light hits the brow bone. To bring more attention to your peeper, apply some kohl on the inner corner of your eyes and lower lash line. Lastly, grab a black eyeliner to trace a winged eyeliner along the upper lash line.

Step 4: The Only Drama We Enjoy Is In Our Lashes!

Curl your lashes and coat them with a volumizing mascara. If you’re exacting, then make your lashes look extra fluttery by sticking on a pair of big, bold lashes.  Pro tip: Use a black liner along your lash line to cover the seams of falsies and define it.

Step 5: Love At First Highlight!

To mimic Lopez‘s luminous, sculpted skin, you need a few highlighting and contouring products. Use a matte, warm brown shade to bronze your temples, forehead, cheekbones, and jawline. Then, grab a cool-brown shade and apply it along the hollow below your cheekbones. Dab the pink shade on the apple of your cheeks with a fan brush. Complete the look by applying a shimmering highlighter on the high points of your cheekbones.

Step 6: Gloss On, Worries Gone

For the lips, take a brown-nude lip-liner and line your lips. Overline slightly to make them look fuller. Then, apply a pigmented peach-brown lip gloss that’s a shade lighter than your lip liner. Finally, seal the makeup by spritzing on a makeup setting spray.
