Janhvi Kapoor is obsessed with skincare — mostly DIYs that her mother, Sridevi, passed down to her. Her skin is always glowing. No exceptions. I always wondered how. But I think I’ve finally cracked it. It’s in the way that she exfoliates the face. And I’m pretty sure her exfoliator is sitting in your refrigerator right at this moment.
Hint? It’s a fruit that most of us love binging on. And it’s an important part of her skincare routine. You’ve gotta see it for yourself.
She Starts Off With A 3-Ingredient Mask First
Janhvi mixes a little bit of yoghurt, honey, and mashed-up bananas together in a bowl. The actress scoops the upper-most layer of the yoghurt (malai) as this part is packed with ultra-moisturising abilities. Both honey and yoghurt, too, are extremely moisturising. She layers the paste onto the face. But that’s not the end of it.
That’s Where The Mystery Fruit Comes In
While the mask sits on the face, Janhvi reaches out for a half-cut orange. She squeezes some of the juice out to loosen up the fruit and quickly starts massaging her face with it. Janhvi recommends doing this gently to avoid causing rashes and cuts on the skin.
This is ideal for removing the dead cell build-up on the uppermost layer of the skin. It even removes a tan in the process. Since oranges are a source of Vitamin C, you can expect it to brighten the face and fade pigmentation and signs of ageing. This includes lines, sagging, and wrinkles. This is thanks to Vitamin C’s ability to stimulate the production of collagen. The benefits of Vitamin C are endless.
Oranges can also control acne by controlling the production of oil on the face. They can reduce inflammation and redness since they’re full of anti-inflammatory properties. What can this fruit not do?
That’s it. That’s how Janhvi exfoliates the skin without spending anything on it. Pretty genius, no? I love how DIY-led Kapoor’s beauty routine is.
