‘An Absolutely Unpredictible Film’ Read What Directors Think About Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail

A middle-aged married man stuck in a full time job and unexciting life. Now where have I seen that? Oh, yes! My uncles, my neigbours, the person I buy groceries from, etc etc. But there is more to Dev’s story. When Dev finds out his wife is cheating on him, he secretly blackmails his wife and her lover as a form of revenge. Why? Well, you’re losing your wife to infidelity, might as well make some money out of the betrayal, right? But things don’t go quite as Dev had planned. What happens when the blackmailer gets blackmailed instead?

…a special screening was organised for the Bollywood biggies. Here’s how the filmmakers of Blackmail planned to promote the film in Irrfan’s absense – by showing it to the people who understand cinema the best, the directors, of course.

Rajkumar Hirani, Amol Gupte, Nishikant Kamat, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Meghna Gulzar, Sudhir Mishra, among others, attended this screening and the response from them is just so overwhelming.
