What exactly comes in your mind when we speak of a fairytale wedding? Perhaps gorgeous outfits, a dreamy venue, and, of course, elaborate decor, right? Well, we just came across a bride who nicely upped the game for all the fairytale wedding aesthetics and took it several notches higher. Saima Gupta was lucky enough to marry the love of her life earlier this year and well in time i.e. right before the coronavirus pandemic took over our very lives and, of course, weddings.
The bride clearly made the best of her pre-lockdown wedding and planned a fairytale event complete with an opulent lehenga, a rainbow mehendi outfit, and, also, a touch of magic. How’s that possible you ask? Well, let’s just say unicorns were involved, and quite literally for that matter. Intrigued? Read on as we tell you everything that we love about this fairytale bride and her magical wedding:
The Ivory Lehenga
Saima opted for an ivory Rimple & Harpreet lehenga for the D-day, a great choice of colour given the overall fairytale vibe of her wedding. The gold and tangerine accents of the lehenga were beautifully balanced by the bride’s second dupatta. The orange dupatta featured a gorgeous cutwork border. The aqua blue embroidery accents added an element of surprise to the otherwise traditional lehenga.
To further add on the statement touch, the bride paired her lehenga with solid gold jewellery studded with oversized emeralds. However, she balanced down the OTT element with an intricate matha patti and hathphools.
Totally crushing over her vibrant bun and the blue floral accents here:
Also, love you she opted for a coral mouth and copper eye look to add to the overall opulence. Here’s how you can recreate this bridal look:
The Rainbow Lehenga
Every bit regal as her wedding lehenga is, it is her mehendi attire that we actually bookmarked. In all honesty, featuring horizontal panels in contrasting colours, her rainbow skirt deserves its own special place in the bridal hall of fame. Done in vivid hues of yellow, blue, green, pink, and orange, the skirt has been adorned with mirror work and also has shibori accents to further add to the drama. Now, that’s a risky skirt and could have gone horribly wrong had it been for a lack in the styling department.
However, making a rather unconventional choice, the bride paired it with a muted brown choli that beautifully balanced the overall vibrance of the OTT, rainbow skirt. P.S. don’t miss out on the bell sleeves!
Here’s an outfit that stands outs, is vibrant AF, yet light enough for the bride to stay at ease. What’s not to like?
But Wait Till You See The Unicorn!
It’s not much of a surprise when you come across statement elements at luxury weddings and yet Saima somehow managed to trump it all and have us absolutely transfixed with extravagant details that involved a life-sized, glass unicorn! Yup, that extra! Nope, not complaining at all.
Every bit breathtaking, right?
