Kiara and Sid just posted snippets from their mehendi, and it’s magical. Though I gushed over their chemistry in the photos for about 2 minutes, I moved on to fangirling over something else. Kiara’s hairdo. The actress’ makeup was minimal. But the loose, romantic braid was a switch-up from the classic bun that most B Town brides have sported in the past.
It was understated yet statement-making. It even reminded me a little of Elsa from Frozen. I felt so inspired that I recreated the look at home. Here’s how I did it.
I Curled The Hair On My Crown
I created a centre part and curled the face-framing pieces of my hair backwards to mirror Kiara’s swept-back look. A few drops of the St Botanica Go Anti Frizz Hair Serum settled my frizz and flyaways instantly.
Next, I Pinned It Back
The next step involved pinning the face-framing chunks back loosely toward the back of the head. I used bobby pins since they aren’t too visible.
Finally, I Did The Braid
Since Kiara’s done a fishtail, I decided to do the same. All I did was divide my hair into two equally-thick sections. I took some hair from the outside of one section and added it to the centre. I did the same on the other side, and so on. Once I reached the end, I secured it with a hair tie. That was it.
And Sealed The Deal With Hairspray
I spritzed my hair with some texturising hairspray like the Arata Sea Salt Thickening Hair Spray to hold the style. That’s it!
I know I’m wearing this look to the next wedding I’m attending. It’s quick and glamorous. You cannot say that for every hairstyle.
