India is under complete lockdown for 21 days due to the novel coronavirus outbreak and what we all need right now is the comfort of our family members to help sail through the crisis. It is in unprecedented times like these that relationships get tested, and one of our favourite B-town former flames–Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan–are giving the country some major the co-parenting goals.
Hrithik took to social media to share that Sussanne has decided to move in with him so that their sons don’t feel the need of the other parent during the lockdown. Thanking his ex-wife for her thoughtful move, he wrote, “This is a picture of dear Sussanne (my ex-wife), who has graciously volunteered to temporarily move out of her home so that our children are not disconnected indefinitely from either one of us. Thank you Sussanne for being so supportive and understanding in our journey of co-parenting. Our children will tell the story we create for them.”
He shared how unimaginable it was for him, as a parent, to think of having to be separated from his children at a time when the country is under a complete lockdown. He also shared his feelings about the world coming together to fight coronavirus. “It is heartwarming to see the world come together as one in this time of deep uncertainty and the possibility of months of social distancing and potential lockdowns for several weeks perhaps.” His post also had an important message for all the ex-couples who wish to happily co-parent their children. “While the world talks about humanity coming together, I think it represents more than just an idea especially for parents sharing custody of their kids. How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children.”
Hrithik’s post ended with a prayer that we all would promptly say Amen to. “I hope and pray that in order to safeguard the health of ourselves and our loved ones, we all find our way to express love, empathy, courage, strength with an open heart,” wrote the War actor. What a wonderful message for all those co-parenting their little ones. Former lovebirds Hrithik and Sussanne got divorced in 2014 after 14 years of marriage, but have been maintaining a cordial equation ever since. They share the custody of their sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan and have also been on family vacations together for the sake of their kids in the past few years. All we can say in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic is that a family that stays together also stays safe. Please stay at home and follow the lockdown regulations. We are in this together.
