It was back in 2016 when one of the ugliest spat in the Indian film industry came to light. It all started after Kangana Ranaut sent tabloids into a frenzy with her “silly ex” remark while referring to Hrithik Roshan. It was the beginning of a volatile blame game and not too long after that, all hell broke loose as the two went on taking the legal route. A lot of ugliness followed and continued to linger for a long time to come.
Now, given that Kangana has been constantly finding herself in the eye of the storm of late, the spat was finally beginning to fizzle away from the public memory. However, it seems like that’s not gonna happen given that it just got resurrected from the dead. Now that’s just too much to process, right? Here, let us help you with the narrative:
The Ugly Spat: A Recap
The gossip mills went abuzz back in 2016 when Kangana, during an interview with an entertainment platform, insinuated that Hrithik was a “silly ex” who got her kicked out from Aashiqui 3. It was obviously a huge claim and soon enough Hrithik took to Twitter to deny it through a cryptic post that read, “Ther r more chances of me having had an affair with d Pope dan any of d (Im sure wonderful)women d media has been naming. Thanks but no thanks.” Following this, both Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan and Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel ended up having their share of online altercations as well.
As the matter went out of their hands, Hrithik decided to slap a legal notice on Kangana and demanded an apology from her for calling him a “silly ex” and spreading malignant rumors about him. Kangana answered this with a counter-notice. After this, the case took an even more sinister turn when it was revealed that in his legal notice, Hrithik had claimed that he had received 1,439 “senseless, personal, and absurd” emails from the actress. The notice further suggested that the actress was allegedly communicating with an imposter thinking that he was Hrithik. The claims further went on suggesting that Kangana was suffering from a mental disorder.
After the news of the legal battle went viral, a friend of Kangana’s went on record to claim that whatever Kangana was saying was in fact true and that Hrithik had followed the actress to Paris where he actually ended up proposing to her. Allegedly, the actor later went back on his words, told Kangana that she misunderstood him and that he did not want anyone to know about their relationship. Post this, while Hrithik went on saying that he never shared an intimate relationship with Kangana, she kept on maintaining that it’s untrue and the truth would soon be revealed.
The Fresh Turn In The Case
In a brand new turn in the Hrithik-Kangana spat, an FIR that the former had registered against the actress has now been transferred to Mumbai police’s crime intelligence unit (CIU). The FIR was transferred after the actor’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani recently sent a reminder to the Mumbai Police insisting that there hasn’t been any progress in the case since 2016.
“Our client also met top police officers when he reiterated all the facts and informed them about the trauma being caused to him and his family. He also reiterated his request for a timely investigation. However, till date, there has been no progress in the investigation, and the aforementioned case is still pending. We thus request to kindly look in the matter and issue appropriate orders to kindly direct completion of investigation at the earliest since the same is pending since 2016,” reads the letter sent by the lawyer.
Not one to stay quiet, Kangana has also responded to the new turn in the case with a caustic tweet. It reads, “His sob story starts again, so many years since our break up and his divorce but he refuses to move on, refuses to date any woman, just when I gather courage to find some hope in my personal life he starts the same drama again, @iHrithik kab tak royega ek chote se affair ke liye?”
With the case properly resurrected now, the netizens are yet again divided between the two actors. And while a faction is suspicious about Hrithik’s intention here, another faction is pretty sure that Hrithik is just pursuing justice. Here’s what they are saying:
Currently, there is a lot of confusion regarding the entire matter given that there were reports in 2017 that suggested that the legal case had actually been closed. The fact that Hrithik’s lawyers are still seeking a result has thus left everyone confused. Rest assured, this matter has surely caught fire again which is not going to die anytime soon.
