One of the main reasons that people switch from commercial beauty products to natural products is because of the transparency of ingredients. They want to be in control of what they put on their skin and hair. By doing this, they prevent exposing their bodies to harmful chemicals and preservatives. A popular hair product you can make at home with natural ingredients is surprisingly a hairspray! Anyone who uses a hairspray often will tell you that it falls expensive to use it every day. In less than a month, your hairspray can is over, and you have to buy a new one. Not to mention that if you don’t have a haircare routine in place, the hairspray will damage the texture of your locks. If the commercial route isn’t cutting for you, it’s time to take the natural one.

This homemade hairspray recipe is incredibly easy and will only take 30 minutes of your time.
Things You Need:
- 1 Orange
- 3 Cups of Water
- Rosemary Essential Oil
How To Make It:
Step 1: To tame flyaways and bring dull hair back to life, slice the oranges into wedges (Don’t remove the orange peels)
Step 2: Place the orange wedges into a stainless steel container and pour 3 cups of water.
Step 3: Turn the heat on to medium and let the mix boil for 20 minutes.
Step 4: Turn off the heat, strain the mix and pour it into a spray bottle.
Step 5: To boost hair growth naturally, add 3-4 drops of rosemary essential oil once the mix is cool.
Step 6: Shake the spray bottle for a minute and then store it in the fridge for an hour.
It’s as easy as that! In place of rosemary essential oil, if you have itchy and oily hair, you can use tea tree or lavender to soothe the scalp and absorb oil from the hair. Another reason to give this DIY hairspray a shot is that it does not contain chemicals and is free from parabens and preservatives. However, please note that since this hairspray has natural ingredients, it will also last for a week. After that, it could get mouldy or smell funny. Hence, it’s wise to make one bottle at a time to avoid product wastage. And finally, from a price perspective, this homemade hairspray will save you lots of moolah as the ingredients are inexpensive and affordable.
