How To Ace A Nine-To-Five Makeup Look Ft. Daniel Bauer
Daniel’s 9 to 5 look is a very natural, easy makeup look. He stresses on the importance of prepping the skin, before applying makeup. He also recommends icing your face before you start your skin prep. This is a step that involves using crushed ice wrapped up in a cloth and rubbing it all over the face. It is a beauty hack commonly used by makeup artists and celebrities to reduce puffiness, minimize the appearance of pores and bring a fresh flush of colour to your cheeks. Once that’s done, you’re ready to move on to Daniel’s next step!
Step 1: On moisturised skin, first dab concealer into the under-eye area and on the eyelids. Be gentle, use your ring finger.
Step 2: Using a damp beauty sponge, dab foundation all over the face and neck.
For oily skin, Daniel recommends picking a silicone or water-based foundation. And if you have dry skin, he recommends a foundation that has a little oil in it. Another interesting point he made was that foundations come in either a pink or a yellow undertone, the latter suits almost every Indian complexion.
Step 3: Use a loose powder to set your base makeup, this will prevent your makeup from creasing. Daniel used the MyGlamm Glow to Glamour Fixing Powder.
Step 4: Using light, short strokes fill in your brows. Your aim should be to imitate the look of hair on your eyebrows. Daniel recommends using an angled brush and some brow pomade to fill in your brows.
Step 5: Next you want to add some definition to the eyes, while keeping it subtle. Daniel recommends using the MyGlamm Jet Set Eyes in Brun on the upper lash line. Smudge the product outwards with a brush, this gives your eyeliner a diffused, softer look perfect for work.
Step 6: Before applying mascara, use an eyelash curler to open up the eyes.
Pro tip: place the eyelash curler close to the roots and squeeze for 5-10 seconds.
Step 7: Once the lashes are curled, use some mascara to add length and definition. Daniel used the MyGlamm Twist It Mascara.
Step 8: Using the MyGlamm Butterlicious Shea Butter Lipstick in the shade Rosé, add a pop of pink to the lips.
Step 9: To add glow and freshness to the face, apply some blush to the apples of your cheeks. Daniel recommends using a blush brush to apply The POSE Blush Duo by MyGlamm.
Step 10: What’s a makeup look without some glow, right? Since you’re going to be at work, you don’t want to go overboard with a highlighter. Daniel recommends using a fan brush to apply highlighter. He used The POSE Highlighter Duo by MyGlamm and lightly dusted it along the high points of the face.
Step 11: Finally, for that chiselled jawline, Daniel recommends that you suck in your cheeks to figure out exactly where you need to apply bronzer. He used the POSE Bronzer Duo by MyGlamm. Another tip he gave us was that your bronzer, blush and highlight should appear to be seamless, no harsh lines. So don’t forget to blend, blend and then blend some more!
And that’s how you get the nine-to-five makeup look done like a pro! You can wear this makeup look not only to work but to parties as well. If you have a ‘less is more’ approach to makeup, this makeup look created by Daniel Bauer is something you should definitely give a shot!
