Alia Bhatt celebrated her 30th birthday recently, yet she still looks as youthful as ever. The reason behind her timeless glow is that she takes skincare “very seriously” and has some bomb skincare advice and products in her kit.
I’m nearing my 30s as well so I absolutely need to take a cue from Alia on how to maintain my youthful glow. Here are some of her best skincare tips, routines, and products that she uses that I believe will come through for you and me.
Her Affinity For Non-Drying Cleansers
During her teenage years, Alia used to love using oil-control face washes that would dry out her skin as she had acne, but she realised that it was doing more harm than good. So she’s been using hydrating cleansers throughout her twenties as it maintains her skin’s healthy pH levels.
I have acne-prone skin too and switching to hydrating cleansers has actually helped reduce breakouts. I use the PureSense Natural Papaya Face Wash.
She Massages Her Face
To fight water retention and awaken her skin, Alia uses a battery-run T-bar face massage tool every morning. It helps depuff and detoxify her skin and also sculpts her visage, therefore, preventing skin sagging.
Alia spritzes a face mist to dampen her skin before massaging it and I use the Mantra Herbal Gulab Arka – Indian Rose Water Refreshing Toner.
Eye Cream Is Her First Step
Believe it or not, Alia uses eye cream first when she’s in a rush because the under-eye area gets the driest. She even uses caffeine under-eye drops and both these products are meant to prevent dryness and dark circles.
The skin around my eyes has been getting super dry lately too and so I’m taking Alia’s tip and beginning my routine with the Skinvest Keep Rollin’ Under Eye Mousse.
Alia’s Go-To Serums
Niacinamide and Peptides are Alia’s favourite face serums. Both these serums have anti-ageing benefits and they deeply hydrate the skin. Niacinamide is also great for controlling acne.
Alia uses the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops but I found a budget-friendly dupe which is the Aqualogica Radiance+ Concentrate Face Serum.
What Goes On Her Face, Goes On Her Neck Too
Alia said that whatever skincare she applies to her face, she applies to her neck as well. This is one of her best anti-ageing tips because the skin on your neck needs care too and should not be ignored.
I like using an anti-ageing essence like the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Essence on my neck before applying moisturiser to prevent sagging skin.
Moisturiser Is Alia’s Skin’s Drink
Just like you drink water to hydrate, your skin also needs to drink to hydrate, says Alia and that’s why she always uses moisturiser to keep her skin hydrated. Recently Alia has become a fan of ceramide-infused skincare and she uses a ceramide moisturiser daily.
The exact moisturiser she uses is the D’you In My Defence Moisturiser.
She Wears SPF Daily
The most important skincare advice from Alia is to use sunscreen everyday. Even if she doesn’t go outdoors, Alia says that being by the window can cause sun damage too so applying sunscreen is mandatory.
Alia’s go-to sunscreen is the ISDIN Fotoprotector Fusion Water Sunscreen SPF 50 but a budget-friendly option is the POPxo Glow Goals Illuminating Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++.
