The cast members often disapprove of each other and lock horns. Something similar happened on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai sets when Shivangi Joshi was first signed for the show!
In a recent interaction with a popular media platform, Shivangi talked about how she had an unpleasant experience on the first day of the shoot. The actress shared, “On my very first day, there were two senior actors didn’t appreciate that they had taken a newcomer in the show who had no idea about acting, cameras, and technicalities. I was new and I was young, so I obviously had no idea. They passed comments like ‘kyun le liya kya leliya? Shakal dekh kar utha ke le aate hain‘.” A heartbroken Shivangi went to her mom after that who advised her to work hard and let that do all the talking.

High chance that Hina Khan is one of the “senior actors” that Shivangi has referred to in her media statements. Back in 2016, when Shivangi joined the cast, there were rumours about how it did not sit well with Hina.

As per reports, Hina felt cornered and wasn’t happy with the attention that the younger actors were getting. Hina reportedly also started checking screenplays and tracks for all the actors and altering them as per whims. A shocking 2016 report also suggested that the actress faked an illness to stay away from the show for 20 days to make a point about how she was still the most important character.
Hina Khan’s Exit
Hina quit the show in the same year and shared that it was getting too “monotonous” for her. However, the signs of tension were all there. Even the show’s producer Rajan Shahi didn’t shy away from commenting on how the TRPs had increased post Hina’s exit.
The actress didn’t take that lightly and responded by saying “We never spoke ill about the producer, the production house or the show, but it’s heartbreaking that the most senior person from the production house stoops down to this level. People can always choose what to say and what not to.”
Hina On Shivangi Leading The Show
Later in 2020, Hina slammed netizens for comparing her to Shivangi. This was long after she had exited the show. It was a media publication’s Twitter post asking “Is Shivangi Joshi Better Than Hina Khan In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai?” that ticked her off. She wrote, “Shivangi is a very good actor and we must encourage and appreciate craft over petty nonsense.”
Here’s hoping both actresses leave the past behind and join forces yet again. They were, after all, a stellar team!
