With Coronavirus hovering over our heads like that one professor with deadlines, visiting a parlour is the least of our problems. While we’re all practising #SocialDistancing, our plans to *slay all day* have turned to *stay home, stay safe*. While some of us are blessed with really beautiful skin (kon hai ye log kaha se aate hai ye log), we still love to get our monthly facial done at the salon ‘coz glowing skin is always in.
How To Do A Facial At Home
Save big bucks and do a step-by-step facial at home today; the solution to ever-glowing, beautiful skin. Your skin demands extra love and care and treating it to facial is just another way of saying *aloe you*
PS: Who said that you need to pay $$$ to achieve glowing skin of your dreams?
Remove Your Makeup
The most basic step of all, remove makeup from your face. Keep the skin as bare as you can. Take a cotton pad, pour a few drops of micellar water of a cleansing creme and clean your face in an upward direction. Use a Q-tip to remove any mascara residue or sticky dirt from the inner corner of your eyes.
And don’t forget your neck.
Cleanse Your Skin
Avoiding your eyes, apply a mild cleanser all over your face and neck. This will remove dirt from your skin as well as the residue of the makeup remover.
Steam Your Face
After wiping off the cleanser, steam your face. Dim the lights, play some light spa-like music, light up some incense sticks- have a full-on spa experience at home. If you do not have a steamer, take a bowl, pour some boiling water and start steaming. Make sure your face is at least six inches away from it. Now that your pores are open, time to unclog them!
Exfoliate To Get Rid Of Dead Skin
Regularly exfoliating to remove dead skin cells is always important. Use a cleansing tool and massage well on your cheeks, chin, forehead nose and neck. The vibrations of the beauty tool will result in the flow of blood, making your skin radiate from within. While massaging, ensure that no product goes in your eyes or even your hair (otherwise, hello premature greying!). Do NOT press the tool hard into your skin, it will only result in skin damage. Avoid using it for more than a minute if you have bad acne, it might irritate your skin further.
Give Your Pores A Deep Clean
Time to let go of your problems by making them! Use a towel to pat dry your face and apply a nice layer of soothing clay pack on your face. And just relax. This soothes any sort of irritation on your skin and helps calm down any form of impurities on your skin.
Tone It Up
Time to *tone* up the glow. Use a cotton pad, pour a few drops of toner on a cotton pad and dab it all over your face and neck.
Apply A Sheet Mask
The most exciting part, amirite?
Sheet masks are just amazing, it speaks luxury to me. Each sheet mask is soaked with a serum that’s specifically manufactured for various purposes- acne treatment, skin tightening, glow, etc. Since the sheet mask only covers your face, make sure to use the extra serum from the pack to apply on your neck too.
PS: It’s funny how a fiber sheet filled with gooey stuff makes me feel so good about myself.
*Spot* Anything Unusual?
Time to treat your skin to fix visible spots such as acne scars, dark spots or even pigmentation. You can either use a spot correcting treatment or a vitamin c serum.
Treat Those Eyes
Lightly dab an eye cream or put one set of eye patches under your eyes. Let it sit for a hot minute before massaging it into your skin.
Lock In The Hydration
The last and the final step- just moisturize!
Use a lightweight, fragrance-free moisturizer on your skin, massage it upwards and that’s it!
