The last thing that this world needs in 2020 is a demonic doll out in the open. What the hell are we talking about, you ask? You know Annabelle, the haunted doll, right? She became popular after The Conjuring, a 2013 horror movie, and its prequel Annabelle (2014) based on the experiences of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They declared that the doll was possessed by the spirit of a demon and kept her in a box at their museum, The Warren’s Occult Museum, in Connecticut, US.
Over the weekend, a rumour spread on the internet that Annabelle has escaped from the museum. Needless to say, this made the netizens go wild. Have a look!
this is anabelle, she's cursed and she escaped her cage, so everyone who sees this picture of her needs to convey a simple apology to her when you see the picture. if you ignore, there may be something bad that will happen to you or bad luck for many years pic.twitter.com/oUvEzdK4tf

Dear Annabelle. I hope you're having a great time outside and that you're social distancing. I was actually hacked and never said anything bad about you, but I'm sorry if you were offended. You're one of the prettiest dolls I've seen, keep slaying queen 😍

The Truth
All the fun and spooky stuff aside, the fact is that Annabelle has not escaped from the museum. After the rumours went viral, Tony Spera, the son-in-law of the Warrens, took to his YouTube channel to ensure that Annabelle was in her rightful place: “I’m in here in the museum because of the rumours that Annabelle has escaped. I’m here to tell you something. I don’t know if you’re gonna want to hear this or not, but Annabelle did not escape.”
He further said, “Annabelle’s alive – well, I shouldn’t say alive – Annabelle’s here, in all her infamous glory. She never left the museum. Remember, I have high-tech security here. If she had left the museum, I’d instantly know if something happened or somebody broke in. I have good alarm systems here, and the police are very good to respond. They respond within a couple of minutes, maybe, if that.”
The Warren’s Occult Museum has a collection of such demonic items that the duo have procured over years of solving paranormal cases. Earlier in 2017, the museum was forced to close due to zoning violations and all the materials inside were held by Tony. Over the years, the neighbours complained about people trespassing and knocking on their doors to enquire about the museum. The authorities then decided to stop the museum’s operation in the neighbourhood. The relocation of the museum, however, is something that the authorities are still considering.
Meanwhile, amid the speculations, our dear Annabelle is chilling during the lockdown. Here is a video by Warner Brothers that will make your day!
Living the dream, huh, Anna? She does not look that scary now, does she?!
