Last month, Sonam Kapoor broke the internet after she announced that she was expecting her first child with husband Anand Ahuja. The actress had posted a series of intimate and stunning portraits on Instagram, and the fashionista has been dropping one sizzling maternity look after another since then.
Since Sonam and Anand’s child will be the first grandchild of the Kapoor clan, the rest of the family is equally excited. The nana-to-be Anil Kapoor had expressed his joy by resharing pics from Sonam’s maternity shoot. He wrote, “Now preparing for the most exciting role of my life – GRANDFATHER!! Our lives will never be the same again and I couldn’t be more grateful!

While speaking to a leading daily, Anil opened up about what kind of mother Sonam would make. “She’s a perfectionist in whatever she does. I’m sure she’d be a perfect mother, too. The way she has been, she has taken the aesthetics from her mother, grandmother, and her maasi (Kaveeta Bhambhani Singh), who’s an interior designer. So, all the women in the house had that [good taste]. And they’ve all been great mothers, wives, and homemakers, and Sonam will also be like that. Even professionally, all of them have worked all their lives,” he said. Awww, isn’t that sweet?
Now, it’s Sonam’s brother Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor who has opened up about Sonam’s pregnancy. While speaking to a media outlet, the Ray actor revealed that he was happy that so many people want to shower love on his sister. However, he also stated that it was important for the fans to give Sonam and Anand privacy during this overwhelming period of their lives. He said, “Everybody wants to share that happiness. But also, I think it’s a very intimate and personal experience for the two people and it would also be important to respect their privacy in a way.”
He added, “I think when you love someone and they’re (giving birth to) someone that you love, it’s kind of sacred. It’s not to prove anything to anybody or it’s not for the world. It’s for you. So, it would be nice to kind of give them that space as well.” Well, we completely agree with him—respecting the couple’s privacy is important at this moment.
Isn’t it adorable how protective little bro Harsh is towards his big sis? All we can say is bhai ho toh aisa! On the work front, the actor is currently gearing up for the release of Thar, which will be released on streaming giant Netflix on May 6. It seems like he has a lot to look forward to on the personal and professional front. Now, all we’re waiting for is to see Harsh Varrdhan in full uncle mode!
