Hailey Bieber is the resident cool-girl of the West and her entire look is iconic. She may be the MVP of glazed donut skin and kickstarting makeup trends, but her signature wavy hair look is what ties it all together.
But Hailey recently confessed that her natural hair texture is actually poker straight! Adding texture to such a hair type is quite a task. So how does Hailey do it?
She Goes Straight For Volume
The first step of Hailey’s styling routine is applying volumising spray to her wet washed hair. She said, “My step 1 would be spraying a volumising hair spray into my wet hair before I blow dry it and I really love this Ouai Volumising Spray. It’s the best and it smells amazing.”
Hailey’s Styling Spray
After she already used a volumising spray and blow dried her hair, Hailey moves on to using a texturising spray on each section of her hair before straightening it. Hailey explained, “It gives my hair a bit of thickness and it mattifies the hair a little bit. I have very straight silky hair, so when you try to do anything with an iron, I feel like it sometimes just slides out, so this helps with that.”

Her Ironing Hack
She uses a hair straightener to create her signature wavy texture that is a little bit messy and looks lived in. She takes each section between the iron clamp and then and then keeps angling the iron to form an inward curve and outward curve along the lengths, creating a wavy texture. She explained, “I’m going to start by taking it piece by piece, section by section. With the iron, I just do this… a wave motion.” She also warns about squeezing the hair too tight because it can leave dents.

Her Dry Shampoo Step
After creating a wavy texture with a hair straightener, Hailey used dry shampoo to help keep the style fresh for longer and boost volume at the roots. She said, “I add dry shampoo at the end because I hope that when I do my hair and then sleep on it, it will still be fresh enough to wear again the next day. ”

The Finishing Touch
