How can we forget Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji’s crackling chemistry in the con film, Bunty Aur Babli (2005)? The two had ruled our hearts for the longest time. And guess what? The franchise is coming back with a sequel and we can’t wait to see Bunty and Babli on the big screen yet again.
According to media reports doing the rounds, none other than Gully Boy’s MC Sher aka Siddhant Chaturvedi has been roped in to step into the shoes of Bunty and play Bunty in the second installment. Joining him is Sharwari Wagh, who is reportedly dating Vicky Kaushal’s brother Sunny Kaushal and has been prepping for her big break for the last one year.
The OG Bunty aur Babli (played by Abhishek and Rani) turned grifters as they set out on a journey to their dream city, Mumbai. The sequel is introducing a fresh pair of talented scammers with new schemes and plots of course.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film has already gone on floors and will be directed by Varun Sharma who was also an assistant director for Salman Khan’s movies such as Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Speaking to an entertainment portal, Varun shared, “Bunty Aur Babli 2 is completely set in today’s time. Siddhant caught everyone’s eye with his brilliant acting debut in Gully Boy (earlier this year) and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly.” He further spoke about the lead actress and said that Sharwari is a talent to watch out for. “Given the film and the roles, they are definitely the perfect casting. They are a fresh, hot pair and their chemistry and energy is infectious,” said Varun.
While the lead pair has been finalised, the actor in the supporting role is yet to be decided. Initially, there were reports of Jr Bachchan being approached to play the part but the actor turned it down. Reportedly, even Saif Ali Khan was roped in to play the role who has also walked out of the film now. We are waiting for the makers to announce the full cast of the movie.
Coming back to MC Sher, other than this mega project coming his way, Siddhant was last seen in Inside Edge 2 as Prashant Kanaujia. Can’t wait to see this Gully Boy ruling the big screen!
