The launch of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) was a magical night that the internet (and I) are still reeling from. The biggest names in Bollywood attended the gala, all dressed to the nines. However, it was extra special because we saw Hollywood stars like Zendaya and Gigi Hadid in traditional avatars for the first time.
While Zendaya looked stunning in a Rahul Mishra saree, Gigi looked like an Indian princess in an Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla saree that everyone’s obsessed with! The model “lived her Bollywood dream” in the ivory beauty adorned with chikankari work and paired with a blouse that was dripping in gold. This was unquestionably one of the most memorable looks!
While every girl wishes she could wear a saree like that, the original would set us back a kidney. Gigi’s custom-made saree is allegedly worth Rs 5 lakhs. However, Instagram blogger Shweta Mahadik recreated the iconic look for a fraction of its price!
Shweta is well-known for her DIY projects and refers to herself as the “crazy DIY lady.” She is an expert at tailoring and stitching and her most recent endeavour was the Gigi Hadid saree. She described it as “the most difficult project.” The content creator spent days embellishing the blouse with sequins, stones, and mirrorwork after sewing it. The end result will astound you!
Check out the video here:
I love how Shweta accessorised the look with chunky gold bangles and studs, just like Gigi. What a fantastic job!
Well, Shweta Mahadik has given a lot of fashion girls (including myself) hope and hacks on how to look rich without breaking the bank. Remember to save this video for the next wedding you attend, ladies. You will be the best-dressed guest as well as the guest who spent the least money on their outfit!
