The Best Mistake I’ve Made: Purchasing The Fenty Skin Fat Water Milky Toner Essence

Rihanna’s makeup and skincare brands have been receiving rave reviews for their inclusivity and exceptional quality products. I’ll be honest, I initially wanted to buy the Fat Water Niacinamide Pore-Refining Toner Serum but ended up purchasing the Fat Water Hydrating Milky Toner Essence because I missed reading out the finer details. But do I regret it? Absolutely not.

What Is It?

This toner-essence combo product has a thick, milky texture to it and is meant for all skin types. Its key ingredients include hyaluronic acid and panthenol which hydrate the skin and strengthen the barrier, niacinamide which brightens the skin and evens out the skin tone, and Vitamin E which fights against free radical damage. It also consists of unique ingredients like tamarind extract, Barbados cherry, Kalahari melon, and green tea extracts that soften, condition, and nourish the skin.

Our Thoughts

I love a multi-functional product, especially when it means less clutter on my table and more effectiveness. The product’s description claims it’s a milkier moisturiser for silkier skin, and that’s exactly what it delivers. After the very first application, I could actually feel it conditioning and hydrating my skin, making it plump to the touch.

It’s my favourite thing to use after hot showers when my skin is stripped of moisture. It also makes for an excellent toner that effectively reduces the appearance of my large pores and controls sebum production at the same time. I’ve been using it on alternate days for a month, and my skin not only feels healthier but also looks more even.

Despite it being so highly-priced since it’s only available to buy on third-party websites in India, I wouldn’t mind splurging on it again because the luxurious feeling it delivers is truly commendable. The singular issue I have with it though, has to be its fragrance. Even though the description reads as a “light, fresh scent”, I think it’s quite heavy so much so that those with sensitive skin might not react too well to it.

How To Use It

After washing your face, pat dry and take a few dollops of the Fat Water in your hand. Directly apply it to your face by patting, not rubbing it in. Allow it to settle for around two minutes and then go about your regular routine.
