Lakmé Fashion Week came to a close this week — and each power-packed stride found itself in the company of show-stopping aesthetics that championed the need for experimentation in beauty. Blush receded to off-beat parts of the face, and pearls adventured the sides of the forehead gloriously. Eyes turned into canvases, and rallied for a show of colours on the lids and waterlines as highlighter pronounced itself indispensable in almost every look. Ahead — some of the most whimsical beauty aesthetics that asserted themselves during the 5-day-long event.
Experimental Beauty Was All Over L.F.W’s Runway
Draped
A runway-ready pink hibernates around the eyes in the shape of a ‘C’ — teasing the temples vivaciously before sailing past the brow-bone, gliding past the under-eyes, and snow-balling into a full-fledged display of colour across the cheekbones. A wash of pink reclines on the lids — crashing into the blue around the eyes, and melting into a show-stopping purple for a second. Draping delivers much of the aesthetic’s verdict — claiming maximum real estate over the face unabashedly. Brushed-out brows and ultra-glossy lips contest the boldness of the technique in all of their minimalistic, not-in-your-face glory.
Bleached
Brows surrender their jet-black glory, and display beach-blonde aspirations on the runway. A riot of black modelled itself all over the lids before extending into over-the-top, brow-grazing wings. The aesthetic is anchored by a wet-glam, slicked-back moment debuting itself on a neck-skimming bob.
Flicked
Sky-high buns billow around heads as the longest pair of cat-eye flicks enrich the lids extravagantly. The wings originate from the inner corners of the eyes — proffering a scintillating silver to a part of the waterline before evolving into a jet-black that adventures the sides of the forehead.
Sunshine
Pops of yellow announced their arrival upon the inner corners of the eyes in a riot of chaos and experimentation. A dewy-dumpling aesthetic endowed the skin with a second-skin-like finish. Highlighter reigned supreme, and washes of rose lent a barely-there flush to the face.
Rhinestoned
Rhinestones asserted themselves all over the face in their star-studded glory — some bedazzled the forehead while others swiveled down to the under-eyes and chin gloriously. Some clustered the eyebrows and extended up to the brow bone as hues of purple border the brows iridescently. This one’s like Euphoria – very aesthetic on the runway.
