The Style Icons Awards 2023 last night was quite a star-studded affair. Celebrities walked the carpet in all of their show-stopping glory. Statements were made. Awards were received. And my Instagram kept buzzing with updates. But if there was something that I couldn’t stop thinking about, it was my fav B-Town gals’ outfits.
While I absolutely loved some, I didn’t feel the same for all. You’re going to want to see why. Here are all the fashion hits and misses I spotted at the red-carpet occasion.
Hits
Kiara Advani
Mrs Malhotra, once again, stunned in a fiery-red ensemble by Aadnevik. Kiara opted for a figure-hugging satin-silk gown that featured a one-shoulder neckline. The cut-out midriff and thigh-high slit just added to the sultriness of the outfit. The tie-up heels were another addition that just fit the theme of the outfit.
Janhvi Kapoor
Janhvi Kapoor turned heads at the red-carpet event. Kapoor sizzled in a gold-yellow, body-fitting Gaurav Gupta gown with a beautiful trail. The gown featured a polo-neck detail as well as one full-length sleeve. Janhvi’s thigh-high slit and the signature 3D structure just took the cake. I know I’m obsessed.
Vaani Kapoor
Vaani Kapoor looked like she’d just stepped out of Disney’s Frozen last night. The actress’ ice-blue gown by Itrh shimmered with every step, and it was simply enchanting to look at. Kapoor’s gown was fashioned with a thigh-high slit and a train at the back. She paired the look with see-through heels that had icy-blue embellishments on the front.
Ananya Panday
Did the memo say ‘fairytale’? Because Ananya Panday looked like she belonged in one last night. The actress wore a high-low, beige-coloured dress that featured a sweetheart neckline and the prettiest embellishments on the bodice. The train at the back swept the floor gloriously while the choker added an element of softness to the look.
Misses
Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi Jenner has been on a roll with her outfits but this one missed the mark. The shiny black fabric, the misplaced frills… it all looks a bit too jumbled. The only saving grace? Her gold earrings.
Disha Patani
Disha Patani opted for a metallic-silver gown with a cut-out detail and a risqué thigh-high slit. The look felt familiar and underwhelming; considering this is her go-to for many occasions. The outfit, in a different colour, might’ve saved the look.
Tejasswi Prakash
Tejasswi Prakash’s look was a little mismatched. Prakash wore a white, floor-grazing gown to the event. The choice seemed basic; and the big, black bow on top looked like it didn’t belong there. Also, I’m not a fan of that 70s hairdo.
Regardless, I know I loved how glamm my feed looked last night!
