The Ambanis and the Mehtas are all set for the biggest wedding of the year- the nuptial of the Reliance heir Akash Ambani with Shloka Mehta. The families are having a gala time in Switzerland with the pre-wedding festivities in full swing. In a recent from the couple’s sangeet ceremony, the bride-to-be looks stunning in an ivory lehenga paired with a choker necklace and a mangtika.

Personal Life And Education
Shloka is the youngest of the three daughters of Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta. She was born in 1990 and currently lives with her family in their South Mumbai residence. Shloka studied in the Dhirubhai Ambani School. She topped the Cambridge Board in English in her final year in 2009 securing 95% marks. She then went on to study anthropology at Princeton and graduated in 2013. Thereafter, she completed her Masters in law at the London School of Economics and returned to India in 2014.

The Mehtas own the $2 billion diamond cutting, polishing and trading company Rosy Blue that has a presence in six countries. Her father, Russell Mehta, who is worth INR 3000 crore, also owns the Orra Jewellery brand. Her family is also connected to the Jatias of Hardcastle Restaurants, who own the franchise of McDonald’s in south and west India. Shloka’s elder sister Divya is married to the son of Amit Jatia. The Mehtas also own several residencies in south Mumbai.
Professional Life
After returning from London, Shloka joined her father’s company as a Director. She also co-founded ConnectFor in 2015, an organisation that connects volunteers to NGOs in need.
The Love Story Of Akash And Shloka

Akash and Shloka have known each other since childhood. In fact, they were classmates at the Dhirubhai Ambani school. Apparently, Akash had a crush on her since schooldays. On the last day of their school, he proposed to her and she accepted. The duo also told their parents about their relationship but the families advised them to keep their relationship a secret to avoid unwanted attention from the media. After school, they went on to study at different places but stayed in touch despite the distance.
In March last year, Akash got down on one knee and popped the question to Shloka amidst palm trees at a luxury resort in Goa. A picture of the couple in which Shloka is seen giving Akash a peck on the cheek also went viral and the buzz about their upcoming wedding started doing the rounds.

The next day, the Ambanis and the Mehtas gathered at a five-star resort to celebrate. In June a formal engagement took place at the Ambani residence in which prominent personalities from Bollywood, sports, politics and business world were present.

The pre-wedding festivities of the couple have already begun at St. Moritz in Switzerland. Both the families, along with the entire tinsel town are present to celebrate the couple’s union. The grand wedding will be held in Mumbai on March 9 and 10. According to an interview by Akash’s twin sister Isha Ambani, the couple was supposed to get married in December last year but they decided to postpone the wedding dates to make sure Isha got married first.
