How Is A Brazilian Wax Different From A Bikini Wax?

So, what does the process of Brazilian wax entail? While Carrie’s may have resulted in her feeling like a freaking hairless dog, whether you want to go completely bare or just a little coverage in the front is completely up to you. While a Brazilian wax leaves you smooth and hair-free. It removes all of the hair from the pubic bone, around the external genitals and upper thighs, and around the anus. A bikini wax, however, focuses on removing hair that’s visible around your bikini bottom or bathing suit. This includes your upper and inner thighs and along the top of your swimsuit near your lower stomach. Note that it doesn’t remove hair from the front of the pubic bone.

Does It Hurt?

As expected, a Brazilian wax can be discomforting for first-timer, however, it only gets better from there. Once the hair is removed from the root, it ends up growing out finer and softer, so the process ultimately becomes less painful as you begin to get waxed more frequently. There are lotta ways to minimize the pain. You can try taking ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment or schedule it a few days after your period if possible since the skin tends to be more sensitive when you’re close to your menstrual cycle. You can also choose the right kind of wax. Most likely it’s gonna be hard wax, as it’s better for the bikini area. Hard wax is thicker and hardens on top of the skin, in contrast to soft wax which adheres to the skin along with the hair.

How To Prepare For Your Appointment?

Firstly, your pubic hair should be long enough to get waxed. That said, it’s best to stop shaving two weeks prior to your appointment. Let it grow until it’s at least as long as a grain of rice. Buff the area with a gentle scrub to slough off dead skin cells – it can be done a day or two before the appointment. It helps the wax to get a better grip on the hair. On the day of your appointment, make sure the area is clean and clear of body lotions or other skincare products. Experts recommend avoiding drinking caffeine or alcohol on the day of your waxing appointment as it thins the blood which can lead to more pain. No matter what, make sure you drink a lot of water because it helps your hair to be removed much more easily.

What To Expect During The Wax Session?

First of all, you’ll be asked to partially disrobe. Next, your waxer will cleanse your bikini area before applying the wax to different parts and removing the hair. Because of the area being waxed, you are most likely expected to get into some interesting body positions, like holding your leg up in the air or bringing your knees to your chest. If you want to know exactly how it’s gonna be – don’t be afraid to ask your waxer directly. The process should take around 15 to 30 mins max.

What Should Post-Brazilian Wax Aftercare Look Like?

It’s best to wear comfortable and loose clothing. Avoid tight jeans. Make sure you use lukewarm or cooler water for your post-wax shower, as hot water can dehydrate the skin. You are also expected to avoid harsh body washes or soaps that contain oils or leave a filmy residue on your skin. Some waxers also recommend holding off on workouts and other physical activities for a day or two after your wax

Just remember, getting waxed or going bushy is your choice and you shouldn’t let anyone make it for you. If you wanna rock hair down there then we’re totally with you girl and if you want to go bald then also we’re right beside you.
