Like most women today, I have a series of shows that fall under the guilty pleasure category. Most of them feature a formidable, girlish protagonist with embellished outfits and a desire to ‘be something extraordinary’ in this mundane world. The main reason they qualify as a guilty pleasure is because of the emphasis of the show on the presence of men (most of these scenes don’t pass the Bechdel Test) but also, where else am I going to get my makeup inspiration from?
One of these shows is Emily In Paris, and with its newest season in production, I’m fighting the urge to go back and re-watch every season.
