Let’s just agree that none of us watch Emily in Paris for the plot twists or storyline. We watch it to see the beautiful city of Paris, the cute French guys, and Emily’s eccentric wardrobe, which we believe is the show’s true star! Season three, like seasons one and two, provided us with hard-to-miss outfits. Emily Cooper, like us, chose to draw inspiration from our Bollywood divas, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Well, our Bolly girls are even slaying it in Paris these days!
Perhaps even Lily Collins watches Koffee With Karan just as much as we do since she wore the exact same outfit Alia Bhatt wore on the Koffee couch in season 7. The ruched baby pink dress is designed by Polish designer Magda Butrym. While Alia wore the dress as is, Emily further spruced it up by layering it with a bright red overcoat decked in pink feathers all over. After all, how much OTT is too much OTT?
Not just Alia Bhatt, but even Katrina Kaif served as a source of inspiration for Emily Cooper. Earlier this year, Katrina posted a picture looking stunning as ever in a lavender floral corset dress. While we wished we could steal that dress, Emily actually did! She wore the same dress from the shelves of the Italian brand, Giuseppe Di Morabito. There’s really nothing Emily can wear without adding extra glamm to it. She teamed the off-shoulder outfit with a matching ruffled cape by Iris Apfel.
While we loved spotting the Bolly inspo this season, just like our B-town divas, even Emily had a few hits and misses in terms of her outfits. Let’s take a look at the season’s winners as well as the fashion faux pas.
Fashion Hits!
While most of Emily’s outfits in previous seasons were a kaleidoscope of magentas, turquoise, and rust oranges, this season we see a bit of the French national colours, namely navy, black, and white. We’re not complaining about the bright colours, but a few solids here and there are also nice, aren’t they? Emily’s blazers were a huge hit this season! From the bra and blazer combo to velvet pantsuits and mini blazer dresses, we’d definitely raid Emily’s blazer collection this season.
Fashion Misses
Okay, so maybe we are complaining a little about the bright colours but can you blame us? Although we love the show’s audacieux fashion, some outfits were just trying too hard. I mean, what’s with teaming the already bright multi-coloured sweater with even brighter metallic shorts or the bright orange dress with blue metallic boots? Also, zebra print is already loud, so why add a feather-like sleeve to it? Non je t’en prie!
