They say families come in all shapes and sizes, all it takes is love to keep everyone together. The most beautiful example of this is the Deol clan. While Sunny and Bobby Deol might have had their differences with their half-sisters Esha and Ahana Deol, it looks like everything is okay now. All it took for this reunion was Gadar 2.
Esha hosted a special Gadar 2 screening in Mumbai recently and shared a couple of photos on the ‘Gram. Scroll down to look at the photographs posted by the Dhoom actress:
While Dharmendra wasn’t in attendance for the celebration, he shared a video of his children on Twitter. The veteran star got emotional seeing his family happy together and penned, “Friends love you all for making Gadar 2 a big success…… Togetherness a great blessing.” Take a look:
This is the first time, the Deol family has come together for an event.
Understanding The Deols
Before Dharmendra became the golden boy of Bollywood, he was a simple Punjabi lad who got married at 19. The actor married Prakash Kaur in 1954. The two have four children together – Sunny, Bobby Vijeeta and Ajeeta. However, Dharmendra fell for Bollywood’s ultimate dream girl Hema Malini and the two got married in May 1980. They later welcomed their daughters – Esha and Ahana.
Interestingly, Dharmendra never sought divorce from his first wife and continued to support his first family. In a rare media interaction, Prakash came out in support of her husband. She said, “Why only my husband, any man would have preferred Hema to me. How dare anyone call my husband a womaniser when half the industry is doing the same thing? All the heroes are having affairs and getting married a second time…He may not be the best husband, though he is very good to me, but he is certainly the best father. His children love him a lot. He never neglects them.“
The recent pictures of the Deol siblings prove that as long as you have love and respect, you are a family.
