So much, so much, SO MUCH happened by the end of Emily In Paris season 2 and we have so many thoughts about it. The show released on December 22 and obviously, we binge-watched it one go. Just like the previous season, the second instalment of the Netflix drama had its own share of confusing and interesting moments. The grand finale of the season left us with several questions and well, we are going to get answers very soon now.
The official Instagram handle of the show has announced that it is being renewed for not just a third, but also a fourth season! They shared a video and wrote in the caption, “Say ‘bonjour’ to 3 & 4! Emily is officially returning for two more seasons.” Take a look:
We-are-so-excited!!! Lily Collins as Emily has a lot of tough decisions to make in the upcoming season and we hope she doesn’t mess up anything—yeah we know, it’s highly unlikely. Here are some thoughts we have about season 3 and we hope that the makers of the show don’t disappoint us with the answers.
Madeline Or Sylvie?
So, Madeline Wheeler’s arrival in Paris did not sit well with Sylvie Grateau and their cold war was making us squirm in our seats. The power dynamics between these two bosses kept shifting in the second season and by the end of it, their employee, Emily, had a big choice to make—join Sylvie’s new startup or stick to Madeline’s company.
We think that Em’s fear of confrontation and inability to make tough decisions will land her in trouble in season 3 as well. Agh, just choose a side girl, it’s not that difficult.
Unpopular Opinion: Alfie Deserves Better
Yes, he does. Alfie is understanding, charming, ambitious, practical and basically the dreamy boyfriend we all deserve—except you, Emily Cooper.
She’s beginning a new relationship with him, but still has feelings for her former lover. How effed up is that? By the end of season 2, Emily even tried to profess her love to Gabriel without letting her current boyfriend know about it. Agh, does this girl ever learn from her mistakes? Apparently, not. While we would love to see Alfie in the upcoming season, we think he’s better off without the Cooper-chaos in his life.
Will The Gabriel-Emily-Camille Cringe Fiasco Continue?
It has to end. No really, it’s 2022 and we are so not interested in watching another cliche love triangle in a series. Gabriel is back with Camille despite having feelings for Emily. Camille has taken him back despite his lies and betrayal. Emily has tried to confess her love to him despite being in a relationship. No, no, no. They all deserve better, but more than them, we deserve better. Hey makers, give us better!
Will The Show Tone It Down With Their Sartorial Choices?
Emily is an American who’s trying to fit in Paris. So, we understand if her sartorial picks look a little out of place in the fashion capital of the world. But, ‘a little’ is the keyword here.
Sorry, but Em’s fashion choices were a big-time disaster on the show. At some points, we wondered if she was actually in Paris because wearing such OTT outfits would have been a crime there. We hope that the show’s designers have received our message loud and clear. We want Emily to represent a perfect amalgamation of American and Parisian styles and we wish that happens in the upcoming season.
While we don’t know the release date of season 3 yet, we are sure that the show will announce it in their own quirky way soon.
