The year is 2007. You’ve just sat down for dinner after a long, exhausting day of school and tuition. You turn on the television, select Star One, and the title song from Dill Mill Gayye starts playing!
If you’re a ’90s kid, you’ll definitely relate to this. Dill Mill Gayye started airing in 2007 and became one of the most-loved television shows in no time. While Dr Armaan Mallik (played by Karan Singh Grover) was the first crush of many young girls, Dr Riddhima Gupta (played by Shilpa Anand) became someone they all aspired to be like. Even after 16 years, the show still holds a special place in our hearts. And while we all know that Karan is married to Bipasha Basu and has a nine-month-old daughter, not much is known about Shilpa aka the very first actress who played Dr Riddhima.
Shilpa left the show within a year and the role of Dr Riddhima was then played by Sukirti Kandpal and later by Jennifer Winget. Over the span of three years, we witnessed three Riddhimas. After Dill Mill Gayye, Shilpa was seen in a few films like Iqraar by Chance, Deewane Ho Gaye, Alert 24×7, Bloody Isshq, and Yeh Hai Lollipop. However, she left acting and went MIA. But guess what? We just came across her Instagram profile and turns out she is a selfie-lover. In 2015, the actress legally changed her name to Ohanna Shivanand and goes by the same Insta handle. Her feed is filled with selfies and she looks unrecognisable! While Dr Riddhima had straight hair, Ohanna’s actual hair texture is curly.

The actress has been out of showbiz since 2015. While we aren’t aware of her current profession, Ohanna made headlines when she accused her sister’s mother-in-law of trying to kill her and her mother. The case wasn’t taken any further due to lack of evidence and she now lives with her mother and her dog!
We hope the entire cast of Dill Mill Gayye someday gets together for a reunion! Wouldn’t that be fun?
