If there’s one thing I’m most insecure about it is dark circles. Pimples come and go but dark circles remain. And thanks to my busy schedule and natural tendency to be a night owl, my dark circles show no signs of going away.
I used to always reach for a concealer to cover up my dark under eye skin until I discovered these natural home remedies for dark circles that actually work. Now they won’t give you dramatically different results but they most definitely reduce pigmentation, and make the skin around the eyes more plump, taut, brighter, and smoother with reduced signs of discolouration and ageing.
DIY Cooling Cucumber Under Eye Patches
If your under eye bags are always puffy, dry and pigmented, this DIY is for you. Mix 4 tablespoons each of cucumber juice and potato juice with 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel in a bowl. Now cut up a round cotton pad in half and soak it in this mixture in the bowl. Refrigerate this and then once cool, place it on the under eye area and leave it on for 20 minutes. Your skin will instantly feel depuffed and soothed.
DIY Almond Under Eye Cream
The skin under your eyes needs a richer cream to keep the area moisturised. And if you have oily skin, your regular moisturiser won’t be enough to deeply hydrate the under eye area. Make this simple DIY under eye cream to reduce dark circles and wrinkles without breaking the bank. Soak a few almonds overnight and then peel them next morning and blend with a dash of water to form a paste. Transfer the paste to a bowl and then stir in half tablespoon of coconut oil, one tablespoon of aloe vera gel and one vitamin E capsule. Store this in a clean jar and apply regularly for brighter under eyes.
DIY Coffee Under Eye Mask
Coffee is one of the best ingredients to detox and reduce the appearance of dark circles. Simply mix a tablespoon of coffee powder with a little bit of warm water and then throw in a couple of cotton pads that are cut in half. Let the cut up cotton pads soak up all the liquid and then store them in a clean jar in the fridge. Place two patches on your under eye skin and leave on for 15 minutes. Use these regularly to reduce dark circles and fine lines.
DIY Saffron Under Eye Gel
In case your dark circles have gotten darker overtime, treat it with this saffron infused eye cream daily. Combine 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with 2 vitamin E capsules and 8-10 strands of saffron and stir well until the colour changes to yellow. Store it in a clean jar and apply on your under eye skin daily.
DIY Honey Under Eye Treatment
If your under eye skin is dark and sagging with signs of wrinkles, you need this honey infused home remedy for dark circles. Mix a tablespoon each of honey, almond oil, and coffee powder and soak two halves of a cotton pad in the mixture. Once the pieces of cotton pad soak up the liquid, apply them on your under eyes and take them off after 15 minutes.
With these home remedies for dark circles, you will witness brighter under eye skin in no time.
