4 DIY Malai Face Packs To Whip Up For A Post-Diwali Glow

Every Indian has either come to love or hate the malai, or milk cream that separates from hot milk. A common factor in preparing rich dishes and sweets is the thick layer. But little do we realise that malai, which is beneficial for both skin and hair, is also an important ingredient in most beauty products. Hence, we suggest that you run to your kitchen, which is a true goldmine of ingredients that are good for your skin. It is a fantastic at-home treatment for dry skin because it is fatty and saturated. We’ve put up a list of five quick DIY face masks that will instantly brighten up dull skin to help you prepare your own favourite mask! (Thank me later.)

Seal In The Moisture!

If you’ve observed dull skin that hasn’t improved despite rigorous moisturising, this combination will help you seal in natural moisture and avoid dullness.

How To Make It:

  • Start by mixing 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder into 1/2 cup of fresh cream.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of gram flour, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 3–4 drops of rose essential oil to the mixture.
  • When adding raw milk, stir the mixture until it reaches the consistency of a thick paste.
  • Before rinsing it off, let it completely dry on your face and neck.

A favourite among the B-town divas, including Madhuri Dixit, Kiara Advani, and Bipasha Basu, besan or gram flour is a very effective option. On the other hand, Sushmita Sen blends the besan with malai to produce her go-to nourishing face scrub that is suitable for everyone, regardless of their skin type.

How To Make It:

  • Combine 2 teaspoons of milk cream and 1 tablespoon of besan to make the scrub, then gently massage the paste into your skin in gentle, circular motions.
  • Rinse with water to remove the paste and reveal a Miss Universe-like radiance.

Your At-Home Fruit Facial

Malai, a natural exfoliant, has a calming effect and shields the skin from damaging UV rays. Take some inspiration from Janhvi Kapoor’s fruit facials and blend up one tiny banana and a tablespoon of malai.

How To Make It:

Apply the mixture liberally to your skin, then wait 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. The mask has a time-reversing effect that makes one’s skin appear as light, bright, and youthful as it did ten years ago.

Up For A Homemade Facial Mist?

Malai, an ingredient that should be a part of every monsoon beauty regimen, also helps get rid of pollutants brought on by heavy makeup, bacterial growth, or dust. This simple and quick cleanser first eliminates microorganisms and then eliminates any dead skin cells to reveal cleaner, healthier skin underneath.

How To Make It:

  • Three spoons of malai, one spoon of olive or almond oil, and a few drops of rose water are mixed together in a bowl to create the cleanser.
  • When the mixture is prepared, transfer it to a spray bottle and mist your face and neck with the serum.
  • For optimal results, rinse off any extra with a washcloth or cotton pad and continue the regimen every day.

Make sure you always proceed cautiously and perform patch tests when using homemade recipes. Up for an at-home malai facial?
