Divya Agarwal bagged the Bigg Boss OTT trophy on September 19, but her journey was not easy at all. The actress had more enemies than friends in the house and one of the major reasons behind that was host Karan Johar. During the first Sunday Ka Vaar episode, the filmmaker insinuated that she spoke ill about Akshara Singh and the Bhojpuri film industry. He even claimed that she plotted against Shamita Shetty and tried to break her connection with Raqesh Bapat. Honestly, we are still wondering in which alternate universe did all of this happen because we didn’t see any of it.
Obviously, KJo’s heavy claims created rifts between Divya and other gharwalas. During the initial weeks of the reality show, she kept talking about the confusion that the host created in the house. She also pointed out that he unnecessarily targeted her and made her look bad in front of her friends. Well, one thing led to another and before we knew it, the host and the actress were at loggerheads in the next SKV episode. There were allegations, elimination threats and several he-said-she-said conversations. While the netizens lauded Divya for taking a stand for herself, we did wonder if she had any second thoughts about creating all the controversies. Well, now we have some answers.
RJ Siddharth Kanan recently asked Divya in an interview if she worried that her arguments with Karan would affect her career in Bollywood. The actress said, “I am confident as an artist, I will never starve to death. Acting is my profession and I am passionate about it. But it is not necessary that I can showcase my passion only in a Karan Johar film.”
She also added that she didn’t need to forcefully impress anyone to get a movie and said, “I have nothing to do with how much my passion resonates with people, whether it is a hit or flop. I am doing what I want to. It doesn’t matter if it is a Karan Johar film or a regional film or a short film. They (audience) will criticise me if I can’t act, no matter how many films I get.”
During the show, Divya didn’t hold back from saying what she thought was right. Well, thank god she didn’t because that’s one of the major reasons why her fans love her. We do not know if we will see the actress in a Dharma production next, but we defs want to see her in another amazing project soon.
