Almost always, when choosing between Hollywood and Bollywood, we’d feel biased and choose Bollywood. Almost always… except for when the contender is Queen Bey. When it’s Beyoncé on the other end, it’s confusing, to say the least.
This time, on one end, is our Leela and Ranveer’s bae, the smokin’ Deepika Padukone. On the other is, you guessed it, Beyoncé Knowles. And the topic of this discussion is an exquisite fringe detail Ashish dress in a delicious cherry red –
– and who wore it better.
Let’s start with Deepika, who has always looked stunning in red. Shaleena Nathani, Deepika’s stylist, chose to dress her in this glamorous little number for the screening of xXx: The Return of Xander Cage back in January 2017.
The Bollywood actress let the fringed dress shine and thought it better to skip the accessories. And most of the time, that’s a safe move.
Deepika Padukone has never been one to go the ‘extra’ route (except for her naked dress at Cannes) so it’s no surprise she paired her dress with only a low ponytail, smokey eyes, and plain-Jane pumps.
Maybe with Ranveer on our arm, we wouldn’t care for other accessories either.
According to us, Deepika’s look was definitely a success, but a sprinkle of drama could have elevated it even further.
Speaking of drama, let’s switch to our bae, your bae, Beyoncé.
Beyoncé Knowles has the feed AND Instagram husband (props to Jay Z) every girl wants. Beyond these, she has the kind of style every girl wants.
The American pop and RnB singer celebrated her 37th birthday last week with a bash, for which she wore the same fringe detail Ashish dress as our dear DP.
It’s evident that Beyoncé wore the dress and made it her own, like with everything else. Let’s start with her faux fur jacket – she’s layered her dress like a pro and that jacket is a bangin’ choice to do it with.
Moving on to her jewellery, Beyoncé layered a diamond choker with more diamond (the best combination ever). To be specific, a solitaire pendant. Love.
Her round retro sunnies complete what is a grade-A street-glam look… her glorious butt-length cornrows are a helluva bonus, of course.
So, it’s time for the verdict – Who runs the world? Beyoncé!
