While the actress wasn’t at the gala this year, she made India proud by presenting at the Oscars and representing Louis Vuitton at the Paris Fashion Week. Just a day before Alia’s big Met Gala debut, DP took to her Instagram to share a series of BTS pictures from the Oscars 2023. This led to quite a stir on social media.
The timing of her throwback post cherishing the historic Oscar moment didn’t sit well with the netizens who believed that DP was allegedly trying to steal Alia’s limelight. One user wrote, “Why are you posting so-called Oscar pic and sharing Met Gala look just before Alia’s Met Gala debut?,” and another wrote, “How can a woman be so insecure? Even before Alia’s Met Gala debut, she is trying to steal her limelight.”

Well, it’s high time netizens learn to take a chill pill. Deepika and Alia are both renowned actresses who have made India proud in their own ways. Both have made a global impact and given Bollywood the prominence it deserves. Hence, it is unfair to label one as insecure of the other or to compare their respective accomplishments. We’re sure Deepika would be just as proud of Alia as we are!
