Deepika Padukone has time and again spoken about how big a foodie she is. She had once spoken about how she ate almost the entire Eid ki biryani sent to her by her debut director Farah Khan. Deepika Padukone’s dietician, Pooja Makhija spoke about what the Bajirao Mastani actor does to maintain her toned body. She shared, “Deepika had a headstart. She had a great body anyway. What was needed was fine-tuning. I suggested that she cut down on meal portions, increase frequency of intake. This is a rule that works for everyone actually. Instead of three hearty meals, divide your day with small portions. Eat eight to ten times a day. For a surfboard tummy, you need to ignore high sugar and high-fat foods, as she does. This means you have to stay away from sweets, fried foods and alcohol. Diet and exercise are equally important here. It’s 50-50.”

- Keep alcohol consumption to a bare minimum. It’s how calories creep in and find their place in your waistline.
- Don’t cut your meals- this will make you lose the natural glow of your skin, the lustre in your hair and also reduce your stamina. Instead, eat small portions at frequent intervals.
- Before you head to a party, eat a couple of boiled eggs along with vegetable raita with tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots. These will provide a lining for your stomach for your drinks and the eggs will give you protein which will keep you away from excessive amounts of sugar at night.
- Munch on fillers between meals: cucumbers, carrots, along with a hummus dip or keep some khakhra or channa.
- Your diet needs to incorporate all types of nutrients: sixty to sixty-five percent of carbohydrates, twenty to twenty-five percent of proteins, and five to ten percent of fats.
Yasmin Karachiwala, a celebrity trainer who has been the biggest force behind Deepika’s fit physique, says, “She knows the trick of staying in great shape–know what food patterns work for you and eat smart. She knows how to balance it out–if she’s indulgent one day, she goes light the next day and practices moderation. I have never seen her starve but she’s always eating right.”

She said, “Earlier Deepika adopted functional weight training and plyometrics as she needed to look very fit and athletic for xXx: Return of Xander Cage’. Now we have shifted focus and she has been doing a lot of pilates. In fact, we have devised a new workout called 20-20 where she works out on three different machines for 20 minutes each focusing on three different body parts. Deepika has been training five times a week most of the times but I have to admit she is very passionate about fitness and enjoys every bit of working out.”
She praised the mega-star and added, “Deepika’s resolve and zeal towards perfection is beyond impressive.”

She said, “What I adore about Yasmin is that the exercises she recommends are low intensity, forcing you to use your core and body weight. Within two weeks of working out with her, I could see a difference in my body- there was a lot more definition.”

Her yoga session is a combination of ten repetitions of surya namaskars followed by marjariasana (cat pose), sarvangasana (shoulder stand), virabhdrasana (warrior pose), deep breathing, pranayama, and meditation.

Who wouldn’t want DP’s jawline? The star has been blessed with a long, structured face with defined cheekbones. In a video, DP showed a number of face exercises to reduce double chin and called them ‘face yoga postures’.
In one she lifts her head and keeps her chin up and moves her jaws in the motion of chewing food. In the second one, she puts both her forefingers into her mouth and pulls out her cheeks from inside. In the third, she does a cute little pout and wiggles her mouth round and round her face.

While you start using various creams to reduce lines, you must also start performing facial exercises. Facial exercises are known to be effective in reducing wrinkles and prevent the formation of new fine lines.”
